Why Every Event Professional Should Be on TikTok?

The short video has become a trending market for businesses to reach out to potential clients.

If you already have or thinking to start a company, I would suggest you have only one social media platform and that will be TikTok. The short video has become a trending market for businesses to reach out to potential clients. TikTok is not only for fun or dance.

Tiktok was launched in 2016 and gain very popular among the teenager doing a short video for comedy, fun, and dance. But in 2020 TikTok blow up in popularity on social media platforms. This app has reached 1 billion active users this year and now has become a marketing tool for celebrities and brands.

To reach out to potential new clients and to build a personal brand TikTok has become a way for event professionals.

The advanced algorithm of Tiktok will make your content live on other platforms too.

If you post on Instagram, you will hit the right person in some days it may come across users’ feeds. But the TikTok will serve your content for several months based on their interest and search. The TikTok algorithm picks up a user’s recent activity and starts serving related content even if the content is of several months back.

While sharing your content on TikTok, don’t focus on views; TikTok is a time taking game. The other social media apps allow you to share your own or others' content on their platforms. TikTok is suited to the event industry uniquely where you can get much more views and likes on an event bringing your viewers into the experience.

What kind of content should I post?

There are many event planners and vendors who are really succeeding on TikTok when they talk to the camera about their experience and share their ideas and tips. TikTok likes and promotes the original content. So try to make your own, and avoid copying or sharing someone else content.

There should be a clear purpose and aim for your TikTok account, mainly to promote your business. As an event professional, your goal is to showcase your work and grab your clients. But if your focus is to gain followers on your content, definitely you will lose the original audience.

How to find new clients by using TikTok?

Like other social media platforms, you have to be active and engage with their content. Follow peers and vendors this will be very helpful for you when more you watch, comment, and share more videos. TikTok will get an idea that what you like and share with your audience and what to be served to you.

Hashtags are being searched for finding people and content to follow, therefore you must use hashtags on your content. By selecting the wrong hashtags will give you short time benefits to gain more views but in the long run, you will not be connected to your targeted audience. Therefore don’t think it be viral, be specified and find the people who actually need your services.

Respond to comments and don’t forget to tags the people for better reach.

What if I don’t have new content to share?

No problem share your old one or share some new inspirational ideas. The new event professional who doesn’t have their new content can also record a video of another event from a different angle and share your own thoughts.

Are you sure I’m not too old for this?

There are literally aged grandfather/grandmothers who are making videos. So don’t hesitate in picking up your phone for shooting your first one.

Be authentic to who you are and what your business is. Be consistent.
